About UpOrbit

UpOrbit is an ADHD-focused productivity app and educational content library. We build free tools for people whose brains work differently, and we publish research-backed articles that explain ADHD without hype, guilt, or miracle cures.

The app is a task manager designed around how ADHD actually affects executive function: focus timers, brain dump, energy matching, gentle nudges, and a comeback engine that never punishes you for missing a day. The content library has 300+ free articles covering everything from procrastination and time blindness to medication comparisons and workplace strategies.

Why we built this

Most productivity tools are designed for neurotypical brains. They assume you can just "start" a task, that time feels linear, and that streaks motivate rather than shame. If you have ADHD, you already know that's not how it works.

We built UpOrbit because we wanted tools and information that respected the neuroscience instead of ignoring it. Not an app that makes you feel worse when you miss a day. Not articles that promise "10 easy tips" while glossing over how hard executive dysfunction actually is.

What we offer

Our editorial approach

Every article we publish follows the same standard: cite real research, explain it in plain language, and never overstate what the evidence says.

We reference peer-reviewed studies and established researchers in the ADHD field. When we say something works, we point to why the science suggests it works. When the evidence is limited or mixed, we say that too.

We do not claim to have cures. We do not promise that any tool or technique will fix ADHD. What we do is translate the research into practical information that helps people understand their own brains and find strategies that might work for them.

Our content is direct, honest, and written for adults who are tired of being talked down to. No filler, no toxic positivity, no shame.

Sources we rely on

Our articles draw from established ADHD research, including work by:

This is not an exhaustive list. Individual articles cite additional sources specific to their topics. We update our content as new research is published.

What we are not

We are not doctors, therapists, or clinicians. UpOrbit is not a medical device. We do not diagnose, treat, or manage ADHD or any other condition. Our app is a productivity tool, and our articles are educational content.

If something we write helps you understand yourself better or try a new strategy, that's the goal. But it is never a substitute for working with a qualified healthcare provider who knows your specific situation.

Medical disclaimer: UpOrbit content is for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on this site constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making decisions about your health, medication, or treatment plan. If you think you may have ADHD, please see a licensed professional for evaluation.
